As of October 16, 2026, every Japanese Pokémon TCG product with an official 2026 date has released, the last being the nine 30th CELEBRATION Card Sets on October 16, 2026, at ¥1,200 each. No new expansion after 30th CELEBRATION has been announced. What are the Japanese Pokémon TCG release dates for 2026 (as of October 16, 2026)?

12 Japanese Pokémon TCG product lines have official 2026 release dates; the last official date is October 16, 2026, when the nine 30th CELEBRATION Card Sets released at ¥1,200 each; after that nothing is announced as of October 16, 2026. The next series is marked ex★, but it has no set name, release date or price.

What is the new Japanese Pokémon set after 30th CELEBRATION?

There isn’t one yet. As of October 16, 2026, no Japanese Pokémon expansion after 30th CELEBRATION has a name, date or price. The last dated product, the nine Card Sets, released on October 16, and the next series is ex★ (イーエックススター), revealed on August 31, 2026 as a logo only.

The ex★ reveal came in a trailer at the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships 2026 in San Francisco. The official news post confirms two things and nothing more: the new series carries an ex★ logo, and cards including Mega Lucario Z ex (メガルカリオZ ex) appear in it. No product page exists for it yet.

So regular expansions this year went from announcement to shelf in four to five weeks. That is not a promise about the next one, but it does mean a set can go from “nothing announced” to “on sale” inside a month. The official news feed at pokemon-card.com/info/ is where it will appear first.

October 16: nine 30th CELEBRATION Card Sets released

On Friday, October 16, 2026, Japan got nine versions of the 30th CELEBRATION Card Set at ¥1,200 each. Every version holds three foil promos of one generation’s starter trio, two 30th CELEBRATION packs and a paper card stand. The trios run from Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle through Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly, and no card is shared between them. If you want one trio, you want one ¥1,200 box, not all nine. September 16: the 30th CELEBRATION wave

Three anniversary products released on September 16, 2026. The 30th CELEBRATION expansion (¥360 for six cards, all foil, with the new Futuristic rare tier) was the first Pokémon TCG set released worldwide on the same day; launch-week prices are in 30th CELEBRATION prices in Japan. The ¥6,200 Premium Deck Set Espeon & Umbreon holds two 60-card decks (contents). The ¥27,500 FUTURISTIC BOX (two Pikachu ex promos plus accessories) was sold only by Pokémon Center Online lottery (抽選販売), which delivers inside Japan only.

Is there a Groudon and Kyogre Japanese Pokémon set in 2026?

No, not one that has been announced. As of October 16, 2026 there is no official product page, news post, release date or price for any Japanese set built around Mega Groudon or Mega Kyogre, on pokemon-card.com or the official 30th anniversary site. What is circulating is speculation, not an announcement.

The same applies to Aura Seeker (ハドウシーカー): a trademark filed by Nintendo, Creatures and Game Freak, reported in March 2026, and nothing more. The November 2026 date attached to it in retailer preorder listings traces to a fan-site report from May 2026, not to Pokémon, which is why it sits in the Status column of the table above and not in the Release date column. So what for overseas collectors?

With 30th CELEBRATION out worldwide, the reason to import is the Japan-only lineup, not timing. The ¥360 six-card pack format, the Espeon & Umbreon deck set, the FUTURISTIC BOX and October’s Card Sets have no international equivalent; the English-language wave centers on Elite Trainer Boxes instead. The Card Sets, released on October 16, are the most recent of these at the official price.
