30th CELEBRATION Prices in Japan: Box ¥25,000, Top Single ¥24,800
The Rundown
- A sealed 30th CELEBRATION box sells for about ¥25,000 in Japan: that is the median of 943 single-box sales that closed on Yahoo! Auctions on October 7 and 8, 2026. The official price is ¥7,200 for 20 packs.
- The box price has risen since launch week: ¥20,000 on September 17–18, ¥23,600 on September 24–25, ¥24,000 over September 26–30 and ¥25,500 over October 1–6.
- Singles went the other way. One of every card cost ¥237,300 at yuyu-tei on September 17 and ¥178,740 on October 8, down about 25%, and 128 of the 163 listed cards are now ¥500 or less.
- The top singles on October 8: the Lugia (142) and Charizard (137) reprints at ¥24,800 and ¥22,800, then the SAR Pikachu ex (127), SAR Mew ex (129) and FUR Mew ex (135) at ¥9,980 each.
- Shrink-wrap is worth about ¥2,700 (¥25,500 wrapped vs ¥22,800 unwrapped), and there is still no bulk discount: 2-, 4- and 6-box lots closed at ¥25,800 to ¥26,300 a box.

You want to know what 30th CELEBRATION actually costs in Japan now, not what the publisher printed on the box. As of October 8, 2026, a sealed 30th CELEBRATION box closes at a median of about ¥25,000 on Yahoo! Auctions, against an official ¥7,200 for 20 packs. The priciest singles at Tokyo shop yuyu-tei are the Lugia and Charizard reprints at ¥24,800 and ¥22,800, with the FUR Mew ex down to ¥9,980. Both figures come from readings taken three weeks after release, and they have moved in opposite directions since launch week.
What does a sealed 30th CELEBRATION box cost in Japan right now?
About ¥25,000, or roughly ¥1,250 a pack against the official ¥360. That is the median of 943 single-box sales that closed on Yahoo! Auctions on October 7 and 8, 2026 (JST). These are closed prices (落札相場), meaning somebody paid them, not asking prices. We excluded multi-box lots, loose-pack “1 box worth” bundles, FUTURISTIC BOX, empty boxes and bundles with other sets.

For the rows from September 26 onward we paged back through every closing the search returned, about 13,500 listings, and kept the 8,796 that were one sealed box; the two earlier rows are smaller samples read at the time. The direction is the same in both: the median rose about ¥5,000 from launch week, the daily median topped out at ¥26,000 on October 2, and October 7 and 8 sat at ¥25,000 and ¥25,200.
¥25,000 is 3.5 times the ¥7,200 official price, and the ¥7,200 is not a shelf price anyone overseas can pay. Pokémon Center Online sells it only to identity-verified lottery winners; the latest round’s purchase window ran September 30 to October 6, with delivery January 18 to 30, 2027. We covered what the ¥7,200 buys in the 30th CELEBRATION BOX breakdown: 20 packs of 6 cards, 120 cards, 236 g.
💡 Shrink-wrap is worth about ¥2,700, bulk is worth nothing
Boxes titled シュリンク付き (shrink-wrapped) closed at ¥25,500 on October 7 and 8; boxes titled シュリンクなし (no shrink, often with the tear strip ペリペリ still intact) closed at ¥22,800. Wrap is the only outside evidence the packs were not searched, and the market prices it. Quantity is not priced at all: across October 1 to 8, 2-box lots closed at a median of ¥51,800 (647 lots), 4-box lots at ¥105,000 and 6-box lots at ¥155,000, which is ¥25,800 to ¥26,300 a box.
How much are the top 30th CELEBRATION singles worth?
The Lugia (142) and Charizard (137) reprints lead at ¥24,800 and ¥22,800, then three cards tie at ¥9,980: the SAR Pikachu ex 127, the SAR Mew ex 129 and the FUR Mew ex 135. These are yuyu-tei (遊々亭) asking prices read on October 8, 2026, with the shop’s buyback beside them. The buyback is the floor: what a professional appraiser will pay with their own money.

“Yes” means the shop shows the card in stock without a count. Since September 25, 13 of these 15 cards got cheaper and the other two held; none went up. The anniversary reprints (136–165, not legal in current Standard) still lead but are off their highs. The FUR Mew ex, the actual new-rarity chase card in the packs, has halved from ¥19,800 on September 17 while staying in stock the whole time. Japanese names and numbers for the full reprint band are in the 30th CELEBRATION card list.
How have 30th CELEBRATION prices moved since launch?
Singles are down about 25% from the first reading: one of every card cost ¥237,300 on September 17 and ¥178,740 on October 8. The day-two dip recovered by September 21; the slide since has been steady. We read the same yuyu-tei page daily.
| Set-level, yuyu-tei | Sept 17 | Sept 18 | Sept 21 | Sept 25 | Oct 1 | Oct 8 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One of every card | ¥237,300 | ¥201,170 | ¥242,290 | ¥231,960 | ¥198,680 | ¥178,740 |
| Most expensive card | ¥19,800 | ¥19,800 | ¥34,800 | ¥29,800 | ¥24,800 | ¥24,800 |
| Median card | ¥320 | ¥320 | ¥320 | ¥320 | ¥220 | ¥180 |
| Cards ¥500 or less | 107 | 113 | 118 | 118 | 123 | 128 |
| Cards out of stock (在庫 : ×) | 11 | 28 | 58 | 14 | 18 | 17 |
| Median buyback as % of ask | 15% | 20% | 24% | 29% | 24% | 23% |
Three things stand out. First, the bottom of the set finally moved: the median card held at ¥320 for the first nine days, then dropped to ¥220 by September 29 and ¥180 by October 8. Second, the buyback side peaked at 29% of the ask around September 23 to 25 and has eased to 23%, so the shop is paying a little less, relative to its own ask, than it was two weeks ago.
Third, the out-of-stock count still tells you which highs to trust. The Charizard shows it twice. It went from ¥14,800 to ¥34,800 between September 18 and 21 while the shop had no copies, then fell back as copies arrived. It did the same in October: ¥24,800 through October 1, ¥29,800 on October 2 to 4 with no copies on hand, back to ¥24,800 on October 5 when three came in, and ¥22,800 on October 7 with ten in stock. The Lugia sat at ¥29,800 from October 2 to 5 with no copies and dropped to ¥24,800 once five arrived. A price on a card nobody can buy has not been tested. We documented the same pattern across seven weeks of Storm Emeralda singles.
🗼 What we can do about this
Both numbers on this page move daily and are read from Japanese pages: the ¥25,000 box median comes from a closed-price search you cannot filter well without Japanese, and a single's ask only means something on the days the shop actually has the card. Closing that gap means somebody in Japan checking whether a copy exists, not just whether a price is posted. Send us the collector numbers you are after from this set, or say you want one sealed box, and the free report comes back listing by listing: what is genuinely obtainable now, whether a sealed box is shrink-wrapped, the yen price on the live listings, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links in the report. Our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you, and if the honest answer is that your local English packs beat every Japanese listing, that is what the report says.

Sealed at ¥25,000, or singles, or English packs?
The same ¥25,000 buys 20 packs as a resold Japanese box, about 69 packs at the official ¥360, or nearly 140 singles of your own choosing at the set’s ¥180 median. The resold box is the only one of the three where you pay a premium and still get a random draw.
⚠️ ¥25,000 for a sealed box is the most expensive way to own this set
The official price is ¥7,200 for the same 20 packs, and this was the first worldwide simultaneous Pokémon TCG release, so English packs went on sale in your own country on the same day, September 16, 2026. A ¥25,000 box is a widely printed product being resold at 3.5 times its list price. If you want specific cards, 128 of the 163 singles are ¥500 or less. If you want the opening, the packs are on a shelf near you at retail. Paying 3.5 times official for a draw is a decision to make on purpose, not one to stumble into because ¥7,200 was unavailable.
🎯 Buying singles from Japan
- You pick the card. No draw, no duplicates
- 128 of 163 cards at ¥500 or less, median ¥180
- A published buyback figure next to every ask, so you can see the floor
- The stock line tells you whether the price has been tested
- Small parcels, so shipping is a minor line on the total
📦 Buying a sealed box
- ¥7,200 official by lottery, about ¥25,000 on the Japanese open market
- 3.5 times official per pack, with no bulk discount at any quantity
- About ¥2,700 extra for shrink-wrap, which you want
- A third of the 120 cards pre-committed to guaranteed Pikachu and Energy
- English packs launched the same day at local retail, so compare that first
If you are shopping the local side, English 30th Celebration packs are the route that needs no proxy account and no yen. If you specifically want the Japanese printing, the Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions routes in the box at the foot of this article reach the same listings the ¥25,000 median came from. We put the cheaper route first on purpose: our own arithmetic says the English release beats a resold Japanese box for anyone who does not need the Japanese printing.
How does this compare with Storm Emeralda?
Steadier, though both sets’ singles are now falling. Storm Emeralda (ストームエメラルダ), the previous MEGA expansion, came out on July 31, 2026. One of every card in it cost ¥474,430 at yuyu-tei on August 3 and ¥134,930 on October 8, a 72% fall in just over nine weeks. Its top card, the MUR Mega Rayquaza ex 113/076, went from ¥298,000 to ¥69,800.
| Storm Emeralda | 30th CELEBRATION | |
|---|---|---|
| Released | 2026-07-31 | 2026-09-16 |
| Official pack price | ¥200 for 5 cards | ¥360 for 6 cards |
| One of every card, first reading | ¥474,430 (Aug 3) | ¥237,300 (Sept 17) |
| One of every card, Oct 8 | ¥134,930 | ¥178,740 |
| Change | −72% in about 9 weeks | −25% in 3 weeks |
| Has the official pack price moved? | No | No |
The row that never moves is the official one. Every figure that has moved on either set is a figure a shop or a seller set, not one the publisher printed. Three weeks of readings describe where 30th CELEBRATION sits today; they say nothing about where any of these numbers go next.
Before you treat any 30th CELEBRATION number as the price
✅ Five checks
- Check the date it was read. The Charizard's ask has been ¥14,800, ¥34,800, ¥29,800 and ¥22,800 within three weeks.
- Check the stock line. 在庫 : × means nobody has tested that number; it applied to 58 of 163 cards on September 21 and 17 on October 8.
- Check whether a sealed price is a closed sale or an asking price. Those are different numbers on the same marketplace.
- Check for shrink-wrap and the pack count. This box is 20 packs of 6 cards, not 36 packs, and an unwrapped box sells about ¥2,700 cheaper for a reason.
- Check your local English pack price first. Same cards, same release date, no proxy fees.
The short version: ¥7,200 is the published price, about ¥25,000 is the market for a sealed box, and most of the set’s singles cost less than a pack does in the resale market. How to read the mirrored sell and buyback pages for any card is in how to check what a Japanese card is worth. The rest of the Japanese anniversary lineup, including the ¥6,200 Premium Deck Set and the ¥27,500 FUTURISTIC BOX, is on our JP release calendar.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a 30th CELEBRATION box in Japan in October 2026?
About ¥25,000 on the open market. 943 single boxes closed on Yahoo! Auctions on October 7 and 8, 2026 at a median of ¥25,000, with the middle half between ¥24,100 and ¥25,600. The official price at Pokémon Center Online is ¥7,200 for 20 packs of 6 cards, but it is sold only by lottery, and the latest round ships January 18 to 30, 2027.
Have 30th CELEBRATION prices dropped since launch?
Singles have, sealed boxes have not. One of every card at yuyu-tei cost ¥237,300 on September 17 and ¥178,740 on October 8, about 25% less, and the median card fell from ¥320 to ¥180. The Yahoo! Auctions median for a sealed box went the other way, from ¥20,000 in launch week to about ¥25,000 on October 7 and 8.
How much is the 30th CELEBRATION Charizard worth in Japan?
The Charizard reprint, card 137, was ¥22,800 at yuyu-tei on October 8, 2026, in stock, with an ¥11,000 buyback. It opened at ¥14,800 on September 17, peaked at ¥34,800 on September 21 while the shop had no copies, and was ¥29,800 again on October 2 to 4, also with no copies. The Lugia reprint at 142 is ¥24,800.
How much is the FUR Mew ex from 30th CELEBRATION?
¥9,980 at yuyu-tei on October 8, 2026, with eight in stock and a ¥6,000 buyback. It opened at ¥19,800 on September 17, so it has halved. The other FUR card, Mewtwo ex 134, is ¥7,980. Of the two SAR Pikachu ex, 127 is ¥9,980 and 126 is ¥7,980.
Is it cheaper to buy 30th CELEBRATION singles or a sealed box?
For a specific card, singles win by a wide margin. The median single in the set is ¥180 and 128 of the 163 cards yuyu-tei lists are ¥500 or less, so the ¥25,000 a resold box costs would buy nearly 140 median singles of your own choosing. Sealed only makes sense if the opening itself is what you want.
Is a shrink-wrapped 30th CELEBRATION box worth more?
Yes, by about ¥2,700 on Yahoo! Auctions. On October 7 and 8, boxes listed with shrink-wrap (シュリンク付き) closed at a ¥25,500 median and boxes listed without it (シュリンクなし) at ¥22,800. Wrapping is the buyer's only outside evidence that the packs have not been searched or swapped, so check the listing title and photos for it.
Did 30th CELEBRATION come out in English at the same time as Japan?
Yes. It was the first worldwide simultaneous Pokémon TCG release, so English packs went on sale on the same day, Wednesday September 16, 2026. If what you want is the cards and not specifically the Japanese printing, you have a local retail option that is not competing with a ¥25,000 box.
Can I use 30th CELEBRATION cards in Standard tournaments?
Mostly no. The official 30th anniversary site states that the historic cards returning in special treatment cannot be used in the current Standard regulation, though they stay legal in regulations where the original card is. Only three cards from the expansion are reprints of Standard-legal cards: ハイパーボール (Ultra Ball), ポケパッド (Poké Pad) and ポケモンいれかえ (Switch).
