It is twenty single packs in a printed tray. The interesting question is therefore not what it costs. It is who is allowed to pay that.

How much is a 30th CELEBRATION booster box, and how many packs are in it?

Two boxes, two sets, two different pack counts — and in both cases the per-pack price inside the box lands precisely on the official per-pack price, to the yen. Buying twenty packs as a box saves you nothing versus buying twenty packs one at a time. No, and the reason is eligibility rather than shipping. The listing we verified is the 【プレイヤーズクラブ：本人認証済み枠】 lane — the Players Club identity-verified allocation. Two conditions gate it: your Players Club identity verification must already have been completed during the application window, and the email address on your Players Club account must match the one on your Pokémon Center Online account. That identity check runs off Japanese resident records, which is a category rather than a difficulty.

Three more conditions worth knowing, because they close the obvious workarounds:

• One entry per person, per product. Not first come, first served — it is a draw.

Compare that to the Storm Emeralda box, where Pokémon Center Online shipped winners by the day before release. Here the store’s own customers wait two months past release day. The lottery is not the fast route to this product. It is the list-price route, and those are different things. Anyone in Japan who simply wants the box in September buys it in September, at retail, like everybody else.

Can you play 30th CELEBRATION cards in a tournament?

Two separate restrictions apply, and they get conflated constantly.

The permanent one: the official 30th site states that the 30 historic cards reappearing in special treatment cannot be used in the current Standard regulation, but can be used in regulations where the original card is legal. So they are not tournament-dead — they are Extra-legal reprints in a Standard-legal product.

The one-off one: on August 28 the official site published deck registration rules for Champions League 2027 Yokohama, held September 20–22, 2026 at Pacifico Yokohama — four days after this set releases. Cards from all three September 16 products are barred from deck registration for that event. There is an exception list of already-reprinted Standard-legal cards, and for the 30th CELEBRATION expansion pack it is exactly three cards: ハイパーボール (Ultra Ball), ポケパッド, and ポケモンいれかえ (Switch). The Premium Deck Set carries a longer list of thirteen. In other words, for competitive purposes at Japan’s next major, a box of 30th CELEBRATION is worth three playable card names.

If you are buying to play rather than to collect, that ratio is the number to weigh, not ¥60 a card.

What an overseas buyer actually does

The shipping math on this one is refreshingly boring.
