30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX: ¥27,500, Online Only

Three of Japan’s four 30th CELEBRATION products go to ordinary Japanese shelves in September and October. This one has no shelf. The 30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX is ¥27,500 tax included, out Wednesday, September 16, 2026, and the only sales channel The Pokémon Company has announced for it is Pokémon Center Online — which is selling it by lottery, ships inside Japan only, and stops taking entries at 16:59 JST on Friday, August 14. Here is what ¥27,500 buys, why the freight math on this one is genuinely painful, and what an overseas collector can realistically do after release day.

Can I buy the 30th CELEBRATION FUTURISTIC BOX from overseas?

Not directly, and not from any announced channel. The official product page carries a line the other three 30th products do not: 「こちらの商品は、ポケモンセンターオンラインのみでのお取り扱いとなります。」 — this product is handled by Pokémon Center Online only. Pokémon Center Online delivers to addresses inside Japan and states the order right cannot be transferred to a third party. So the routes that exist for you all start after September 16, in Japan, through somebody standing here.

First, what is in the box. This is a supply set with two cards in it, not a card product.

Two cards. Ten supply items. The design is by graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, and that is the through-line of the whole product — every piece carries the same iridescent sphere artwork, which is why it is sold as a set rather than as parts.

What ¥27,500 actually buys

The price is the story here. Against the rest of the anniversary lineup it is an outlier by a factor that is hard to argue with.

That is 76 packs’ worth of money, or four and a half Premium Deck Sets. What separates it is not card content — it has the fewest cards of anything on the list — but the fact that the accessories are made of metal, rubber and acrylic instead of cardboard. Twelve zinc-alloy damage dice and two zinc-alloy status markers are the reason the box weighs what it weighs, and the reason the shipping section below is the most expensive part of this article.

The two FUR Pikachu ex: 131/M-P and 132/M-P

We opened both official card images and read the printed numbers off them. They are 131/M-P and 132/M-P, both marked PROMO, both credited to Illus. YOSHIROTTEN — the same graphic artist who drew the FUR Mew ex and Mewtwo ex in the 30th CELEBRATION expansion pack, which the official page states outright.

Both are Basic Lightning Pokémon at 190 HP, Fighting weakness ×2, one Colorless retreat, and both finish with a 200-damage attack for two Lightning and one Colorless. The split is in the first attack, and it is a clean day-and-night pairing:

• 131/M-P, the bright card, opens with ピカピカパレード (Pika Pika Parade) for a single Colorless: search your deck for as many Basic Pokémon as you like and put them on your Bench, then shuffle. Its finisher, 10まんボルト (Thunderbolt), does 200 and discards all Energy attached.
• 132/M-P, the dark card, opens with ビリビリフィーバー for a single Lightning: attach as many Basic Energy from your hand to your Pokémon as you like, however you like. Its finisher, かみなり (Thunder), does 200 and puts 30 damage on itself.

If the cards are the only part you want, that changes your whole plan: two promos travel in an envelope-sized parcel rather than a 3kg box. Chasing two singles and chasing this box are not the same problem.

The lottery, and why it was never your window

Pokémon Center Online is running the FUTURISTIC BOX through the same two-lane draw as the rest of the anniversary products, and every date is published in advance.

The two lanes are 「プレイヤーズクラブ：本人認証済み枠」 (My Number–verified) and 「プレイヤーズクラブ：本人未認証枠」 (unverified, phone-number checked). Applying through the wrong one is treated as a losing entry. We mapped the identity layer in full in Pokémon Players Club My Number verification, and the short version is that a My Number Card is issued off a Japanese resident record — so the verified lane is not a difficulty for overseas collectors, it is a category they are not in. One line at the bottom of the announcement is worth holding onto: Pokémon Center Online says it plans to run an additional draw at a later date so more people can get the products, with dates to be announced. That will still be Japan-only — but a second draw means more units in Japanese hands, which is the supply that eventually reaches a resale listing.

The freight math: 2,700g is published, and it changes everything

Here is the part that separates this product from its siblings. For the Premium Deck Set and the Card Sets, no weight is published anywhere and we said so. For the FUTURISTIC BOX, Pokémon Center Online publishes it: 2,700g, in a box measuring 18.5 × 7.8 × 25.8 cm.

That number does real work. Japan Post’s EMS table charges by weight, and 2,700g is already past every bracket up to 2.5kg — before a shipping carton, padding or an invoice sleeve is added. The lightest row this box can possibly use is “up to 3kg”, and any sensible export packing puts it in the 3.5kg row.

So the honest all-in floor for a U.S. buyer is roughly ¥27,500 plus ¥10,300, before any proxy fee and before duty or VAT — freight running around 37% of the item price. Consolidation, our usual advice, barely helps here: adding anything to a parcel that already sits at the top of a bracket just pushes it into the next one. This is one of the few Japanese products where shipping it alone is close to optimal.

What is not published

Being clear about the gaps, because they are the parts people fill in with guesses:

• How many exist. No print run, no allocation split between the two lottery lanes, no size for the promised second draw.
• Whether Pokémon Center stores will get it, and when. Only the word 可能性 (possibility).
• Any international release. The word FUTURISTIC appears zero times in the Pokémon.com 30th Celebration showcase. That is absence from an announced lineup as of August 12, 2026, not a Japan-exclusivity statement.
• Whether the promos appear anywhere else. 131/M-P and 132/M-P are listed only as contents of this box.

Everything about this product is built to be hard to get: one channel, one draw, one address country, and a 2,700g box at the end of it. The useful reframe is that the scarcity is in the supplies, not the cards. If you want a YOSHIROTTEN Pikachu ex, you are chasing two pieces of cardboard that will move on the Japanese market like any other promo. If you want the metal dice and the display frame, you are chasing the box itself — and that one is going to take patience, a person in Japan, and about ¥37,800 in item and airmail before any service fee or duty.
