Inferno X Card Prices in Japan: Mega Charizard X ex MUR at ¥128,000
The Rundown
- On October 28, 2026 the MUR Mega Charizard X ex (116/080) lists at ¥128,000 at yuyu-tei and the SAR print (110/080) at ¥89,800. Both are sold out, so neither is a price you could pay there today.
- Those two cards are 89% of the ¥245,320 it would cost to buy one of each of the 116 Inferno X cards the shop lists. Only seven cards are ¥1,000 or more.
- The shop's buyback is ¥90,000 on the MUR and ¥63,000 on the SAR, about 70% of its ask on both. Its buylist shows both raised from struck-through figures of ¥50,000 and ¥30,000.
- The third most expensive card is also Mega Charizard X ex, the SR at ¥3,480 (094/080). Four prints share the name, from ¥420 to ¥128,000, so the collector number is the only safe search term.
- Officially a box is 30 packs of 5 cards at ¥5,400. Pokémon Center Online sells it by lottery, with winning boxes shipping December 10 to 25, 2026, to Japanese addresses only.

Inferno X (インフェルノX) is the MEGA expansion pack that went on sale in Japan on September 26, 2025, and nearly all of its value sits in one Pokémon. On October 28, 2026, the MUR Mega Charizard X ex (メガリザードンXex) lists at ¥128,000 at yuyu-tei (遊々亭) and the SAR print at ¥89,800, and both are sold out. Below are the singles that matter, what the shop’s buyback says about them, and how the official ¥5,400 box compares.
How much are Inferno X cards in Japan?
Two cards cost more than ¥3,500. Everything else in the set is ¥3,480 or less, and most of it is under ¥100. yuyu-tei lists 116 collector numbers for Inferno X. The median ask is ¥80, 107 of the 116 are ¥500 or less, and only seven reach ¥1,000.
The table is yuyu-tei’s posted 販売 (hanbai) sell price and its 買取 (kaitori) buyback price, both read from the shop’s live pages on October 28, 2026. A sell price is a shop listing, not a completed sale. “Sold out” means the page showed × for stock, so you could not buy at that price that day. This is one large Tokyo shop; Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and other stores keep their own numbers.

“In stock” is the shop’s ◯ mark, which it uses instead of a count. The rarity codes are yuyu-tei’s. If MUR, SAR, SR and AR are new to you, start with Japanese rarities explained.
Two things to take from the table. All six SAR cards are in it, and four of them are under ¥3,000. And Mega Charizard X ex appears four times, from ¥420 to ¥128,000, which matters the moment you read an overseas listing title.
What does the buyback say about Mega Charizard X ex?
The buyback is what the shop pays with its own money, so it is the closest thing to a floor a public page gives you. On the two top prints it is about 70% of the ask, and the shop has just raised it.
The Inferno X spread
yuyu-tei, October 28, 2026 · bar = buyback as a share of the same shop's asking price
- MUR Mega Charizard X ex 116/080 buys back ¥90,000 (70%)asks ¥128,000
- SAR Mega Charizard X ex 110/080 buys back ¥63,000 (70%)asks ¥89,800
- SAR Dawn 115/080 buys back ¥2,000 (67%)asks ¥2,980
- SR Mega Charizard X ex 094/080 buys back ¥1,800 (52%)asks ¥3,480
- SAR Oricorio ex 111/080 buys back ¥1,000 (34%)asks ¥2,980
Bars show the ratio, not the amount. The closer the bar is to full, the closer the shop's buying price sits to its selling price.
The buylist page marks four Inferno X cards as raised, with the earlier figure struck through: the MUR from ¥50,000 to ¥90,000, the SAR from ¥30,000 to ¥63,000, the SAR Dawn from ¥1,000 to ¥2,000, and the SR Mega Charizard X ex from ¥1,200 to ¥1,800. The page does not say when the old figures applied, so we can only report the direction, not the date.
Put together, the picture on the two Charizard prints is consistent: no copies on the shelf, a buyback raised sharply, and a narrow gap between buying and selling. A shop does that when it wants copies back in. The Oricorio ex SAR is the opposite case, in stock with the shop paying a third of its ask. None of this predicts where a price goes next, and we are not suggesting anyone buy a card to resell it. The general method for reading these two pages on any card is in how to check what a Japanese card is worth.
Is an Inferno X box cheaper than the single?
For one named card, no. The official box is ¥5,400 for 30 packs of 5 cards, and the MUR’s ask equals about 23.7 of those boxes, or 711 packs at ¥180. The SAR’s ¥89,800 is about 16.6 boxes. The official product page says cards are inserted at random and publishes no pull rates, so no number of boxes guarantees either print.
The ¥5,400 is also not a price you can simply click. Pokémon Center Online sells the Inferno X BOX by lottery (抽選販売, chūsen hanbai): entries for the latest round closed October 5, winners ordered October 14 to 20, and boxes ship December 10 to 25, 2026, to addresses in Japan only, with a flat ¥550 shipping charge. Why overseas residents cannot enter is covered in our Inferno X and Storm Emeralda lottery guide.
🗼 What we can do about this
The two Inferno X cards people actually want are sold out at the biggest single-card shop, and the official box only reaches Japanese addresses by lottery. So the useful question is where a copy of 116/080 or 110/080 exists right now and what it costs at your door. Send the collector number, and we check the live Japanese listings (shop stock, Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions) and send back a free report: the listings we would pick, the yen price, condition notes, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. If buying locally works out cheaper, the report says so. You buy directly from the links. Our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.

Which Mega Charizard X ex is which?
Search by collector number, never by name. “Mega Charizard X ex Inferno X” matches four different cards in this one set, and the most expensive costs about 300 times as much as the cheapest.
⚠️ Four Charizards, one name
In Inferno X, 013/080 is the RR at ¥420, 094/080 the SR at ¥3,480, 110/080 the SAR at ¥89,800 and 116/080 the MUR at ¥128,000. A listing titled only "Mega Charizard X ex Japanese Inferno X" with a small photo can be any of them. If the number is not in the title or clearly visible in a photo, ask for it before you pay. A fifth print sits in a different set: MEGA Dream ex has its own Mega Charizard X ex, 223/193, priced in our MEGA Dream ex price list.
The same check applies to Dawn and Mega Lopunny ex, which each appear twice in the table above at different rarities. A single number difference (106 against 115) is the difference between ¥1,480 and ¥2,980.
What is official, and what is not confirmed?
The official product page states the ¥180 pack price including tax, 5 cards per pack, random insertion, and the release date of Friday, September 26, 2025. The box size and box price come from the Pokémon Center Online listing: 1BOX=30パック, ¥5,400 including tax.
What we have not confirmed from an official page is the secret-rare lineup. The official page shows card images numbered 001 to 080 only, so the 36 cards above 080, and the rarity codes in our table, come from yuyu-tei’s list. The English card names are the established English names for these Pokémon and trainers; we have not checked any English-language release of this set, and nothing here is a price for an English card.
How do you compare an overseas listing with the Japanese price?
Start from the yen number, add your fixed costs, and only then look at the overseas price. A raw MUR at ¥128,000 plus proxy fees and shipping is the Japanese side of the comparison. Graded copies are a different product, so compare raw with raw and graded with graded.
If you want to see how the overseas market prices the same print, an eBay search for Mega Charizard X ex 116/080 japanese (paid link) shows live listings to set against the ¥128,000 shop ask. Remember that the Japanese figure is a sold-out ask, not a price you could pay at that shop today.
✅ Before you pay for an Inferno X chase card
- Match the number: 116/080 is the MUR Mega Charizard X ex, 110/080 the SAR, 094/080 the SR, 013/080 the RR.
- Note the date on any yen price you use. Ours is October 28, 2026.
- Check the stock line, not just the ask. A sold-out price is not a price you can pay.
- Add proxy fees and shipping to the Japanese number before comparing.
- For a sealed box, confirm the shrink is intact and that the seller has it in hand, since the lottery boxes ship from December 10.
Inferno X has been on Japanese shelves for just over a year, so these are the prices of a settled set, not a launch week. Read them as a record of where one Tokyo shop priced it on October 28, 2026, not as a forecast.
Frequently asked questions
What is the most expensive card in Inferno X?
The MUR Mega Charizard X ex, 116/080. yuyu-tei listed it at ¥128,000 on October 28, 2026, with no copies in stock. The SAR Mega Charizard X ex, 110/080, was second at ¥89,800, also sold out. No other Inferno X single was above ¥3,480 at that shop.
How much is an Inferno X booster box in Japan?
Pokémon Center Online lists the Inferno X BOX at ¥5,400 including tax, for 30 packs of 5 cards, which matches the official ¥180 pack price times 30. It is sold by lottery to Players Club members, and winning boxes from the October round ship December 10 to 25, 2026, to Japanese addresses only.
How many cards are in Inferno X?
The main numbering runs to 080, and yuyu-tei lists 116 collector numbers in total, up to 116/080, the MUR Mega Charizard X ex. By the shop's rarity labels that includes 17 SR, 12 AR, 6 SAR and 1 MUR. The official product page shows card images only up to 080, so we have not confirmed the secret-rare count from an official page.
Why is the buyback price so far below the sell price?
The sell price is what the shop charges you; the buyback is what it pays a customer who brings the card in. On the two top Inferno X cards the shop pays about 70% of its ask, which is a narrow gap for a card it cannot keep on the shelf. On the SAR Oricorio ex it pays 34%, which says it has stock and little need for more.
