ONE PIECE ST-37 & ST-38 Baroque Works Start Decks: Dec 19, ¥1,320
The Rundown
- Both decks release in Japan on Saturday, December 19, 2026 at ¥1,320 each (tax included): a 51-card pre-built deck (17 kinds: 1 Leader, 2 Super Rare, 14 Common), 10 DON!! cards, 1 bonus pack and a play sheet.
- ST-37 (砂漠の王女と海賊たち, The Desert Princess and the Pirates) is red/blue with the Straw Hats and Alabasta. ST-38 (バロックワークス, Baroque Works) is blue/black built on Baroque Works members.
- An English edition of both decks is on the official English site: December 18, 2026, MSRP USD $16.99, with a 3-card bonus pack.
- A start deck has fixed contents, so there is no pull risk. You know which cards you get before you pay.
- One ¥1,320 deck shipped alone costs more in proxy fees and postage than the deck itself. Buy both in one order, or add them to a bigger parcel.

You saw the Alabasta and Baroque Works start decks on the Japanese site and want to know what is in them and whether it is worth importing one. ST-37 and ST-38 both release in Japan on December 19, 2026 at ¥1,320 each, and both contain a fixed 51-card deck, 10 DON!! cards, one bonus pack and a play sheet. An English edition of both is already listed on the official English site, which changes the import math for anyone who only wants to play.
When do ST-37 and ST-38 come out, and what do they cost?
Saturday, December 19, 2026 in Japan, at a suggested retail price of ¥1,320 each, tax included. The two decks have identical contents and rarity breakdowns. Only the characters and colors differ. All figures below come from the official Japanese product pages, checked October 21, 2026.

The official pitch lines are short. ST-37 is described as a red/blue deck that attacks with a high number of moves, fought alongside Luffy. ST-38 is a blue/black deck that swaps cards in your hand and KOs the opponent’s characters, aimed squarely at Baroque Works fans. Neither Japanese product page names the Leader card, so we are not guessing which character it is. For the bigger December picture, the release calendar lists both decks next to the rest of Japan’s schedule.
What’s actually inside each deck
Each box is a complete deck plus what you need for a first game: 51 cards, 10 DON!!, one bonus pack and a paper play sheet. The Japanese page notes that, by the nature of the product, the deck contains several copies of the same card. That is why 51 cards come from only 17 kinds.

The bonus pack is the one detail that differs by language. The Japanese pages say one pack drawn from 17 kinds and do not state how many cards each Japanese pack holds. The English pages list “Bonus Pack x 1 (3 cards)”. We are not assuming the Japanese pack matches. The official card list for these decks was not readable in a quick check, so card names, including the two Super Rares, are not covered here until Bandai publishes them.
💡 The rarity math for collectors
Every copy of the deck has the same 2 Super Rares and the same Leader. If those are what you want, one deck gets them. The only chance element is the single bonus pack, so buying a second copy of the same deck mostly doubles the Commons.
Start deck vs booster: why there’s no pull risk
A start deck is a fixed product. You pay ¥1,320 and get the exact list on the box. A booster is random: the OP-18 booster covered in our OP-18 The Dominance of God guide sells at ¥240 for 6 cards, and what you open is luck.
🧱 Start deck (ST-37 / ST-38)
- ¥1,320 for a fixed 51-card deck
- Same Leader and Super Rares in every copy
- Ready to play with 10 DON!! and a play sheet
- One bonus pack is the only random part
🎲 Booster pack (OP-18)
- ¥240 for 6 random cards
- Chase cards depend on what you pull
- Not a playable deck on its own
- Cost per wanted card is unknown in advance
For an overseas buyer, that predictability is the whole appeal. You can decide from the product page alone whether the deck is worth importing, without pricing in bad luck.
Is there an English version of ST-37 and ST-38?
Yes. The official English site lists both decks with a release date of December 18, 2026 and an MSRP of USD $16.99 each. The English contents match the Japanese structure: one 51-card constructed deck, 10 DON!! cards, a play sheet and the same 1 Leader / 2 Super Rare / 14 Common split, with a 3-card bonus pack.
Two details from the English pages are worth knowing:
- Date check. Both English product pages say December 18, 2026. On the English products listing, checked the same day, ST-38 showed December 19, 2026. Treat the product page as the reference and confirm with your store.
- Tournament legality. The English pages state that the cards become tournament legal 7 days after the release date in your region, and are legal from the pre-release date at your local game store.
So the question for most readers is simple. If you want to play in English-language events, the English edition is the obvious buy. Import the Japanese version only if you specifically want Japanese-language cards or the Japanese box.
The honest math on one ¥1,320 deck from overseas
Shipped alone, one ¥1,320 deck lands at several times its shelf price, because the proxy fee and postage are fixed costs that do not shrink with the item. The figures below are taken from our own fee and shipping guides; we did not weigh a deck, because the official pages do not give a weight.
| Line | One deck | Both decks, one order |
|---|---|---|
| Deck price (official) | ¥1,320 | ¥2,640 |
| Buyee fees for one order (from our proxy comparison, rechecked August 2026) | ¥650–2,000 | ¥650–2,000 |
| Tracked International Air Packet to the US, up to 1kg (from our shipping guide, re-verified September 5, 2026) | ¥3,090 | ¥3,090 |
| Approximate total before import tax | ¥5,060–6,410 | ¥6,380–7,730 |
The per-deck cost roughly halves once both decks share one order and one parcel. Europe is cheaper on postage (¥2,500 for the same Air Packet tier in the shipping guide), but the shape of the math is the same. The fee lines change with your proxy, your shop and how the shop charges domestic delivery, so read the fee pages before you order.
🗼 What we can do about this
A ¥1,320 start deck is the kind of item where the fixed costs of importing are bigger than the product. Tell us whether you want ST-37, ST-38 or both, and what else you are buying from Japan this month. We check the live Japanese listings on Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and shop stock and send back a free report with the listings we would pick, the yen price, condition notes, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links. Our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.

How to preorder or buy the Japanese decks from overseas
Japanese shops sell to Japanese addresses, so the route is a proxy that buys from the shop for you, then ships everything together. The official product pages link a store list (取り扱い店舗) but do not list a preorder window or purchase limit, and we have not checked individual shop stock for this article.
After release, sealed copies also turn up on eBay (paid link). Compare any listing against ¥1,320 plus the fee and postage lines above before deciding which route is cheaper for you.
⚠️ Check the language before you pay
The English and Japanese editions share the same product codes, ST-37 and ST-38, and release one day apart. A listing titled only "ST-37 Start Deck" could be either. If you want the Japanese version, look for 砂漠の王女と海賊たち or バロックワークス printed on the box in the photos, and ask the seller if the photo is the official key art rather than the actual item.
If you are building a broader Japanese ONE PIECE haul, our buying guide for ONE PIECE cards from Japan covers the routes for boosters and singles, and the same consolidation logic applies: the cheaper the item, the more it pays to ship it with something else.
Frequently asked questions
How much do ST-37 and ST-38 cost in Japan?
¥1,320 each, tax included, which is the manufacturer's suggested retail price on both official Japanese product pages. Importing adds a proxy service fee and international postage, which for a single deck is more than the deck itself. Buying both decks in one order spreads those fixed costs.
Is there an English version of ST-37 and ST-38?
Yes. The official English site lists STARTER DECK -The Desert Princess and the Pirates- [ST-37] and STARTER DECK -Baroque Works- [ST-38], both dated December 18, 2026 on their product pages at an MSRP of USD $16.99. The English bonus pack holds 3 cards.
What is in the ST-37 and ST-38 bonus pack?
The Japanese pages list one bonus pack per deck, drawn from 17 kinds, but do not state how many cards are in each Japanese pack. The English pages list a 3-card bonus pack. Neither page names the cards, so wait for the official card list before buying for a specific card.
Are ST-37 and ST-38 random like booster packs?
The 51-card deck is fixed: every copy has the same 17 kinds (1 Leader, 2 Super Rare, 14 Common), with duplicates of the same card. Only the single bonus pack adds an element of chance.
