30th Promo Greninja ex 151/M-P: The Logo-Right Version Doesn't Exist
The Rundown
- The real 30th promo Greninja ex (ゲッコウガex, 151/M-P, 300 HP) has the Pikachu-ears 30th logo on the LEFT edge of the card. Pokémon's own notice says a pack version with the logo on the right does not exist.
- The wrong image was on two official sites, the 30th anniversary special site and the 30th CELEBRATION EVENT site, until the correction notice dated September 28, 2026. The notice names only Greninja ex.
- Any listing that uses the old official picture as its photo is showing a card that was never printed. Ask for a photo of the actual card before you pay.
- Japanese shop reference: Card Rush listed the promo at ¥1,280 (¥1,090 in A- condition) on September 28, 2026, and both were marked sold out.

If you have been shopping for the Japanese 30th anniversary promo Greninja ex, the picture you have been comparing listings against may be the wrong one. Pokémon’s Japanese card site posted a correction on September 28, 2026, and it settles the question in one line. The real 30th Promo Card Pack Greninja ex (151/M-P) has the 30th logo on the left side of the card. A version with the logo on the right does not exist, even though that is how the official sites showed it until today.
Is there a 30th Promo Greninja ex with the logo on the right?
No. Pokémon’s notice says the Greninja ex in the 30th Promo Card Pack has the logo on the left, and a copy with the logo on the right does not exist. The logo-right version was only ever an image on two official web pages.
| Real card (in packs) | Pre-correction official image | |
|---|---|---|
| 30th logo position | Left edge, just below the artwork | Right edge, just below the artwork |
| Card number | 151/M-P, PROMO at bottom left | 151/M-P, PROMO at bottom left |
| HP and attacks | 300 HP; おんみつぎり, アクアエッジ 160 | Same |
| Illustrator credit | Sbon Graphics | Sbon Graphics |
| Where it appeared | Inside 30th Promo Card Packs from Sept 16, 2026 | 30th anniversary special site and 30th CELEBRATION EVENT site, until Sept 28, 2026 |
| Status | Genuine pack card | Does not exist as a printed card |
Everything except the logo is identical, which is exactly why the error is easy to miss. The number, the HP, the attack text and the artwork all match. You are looking for one small Pikachu-ears mark and which side of the card it sits on.

What Pokémon corrected on September 28
The notice is short. It is titled 「30thプロモカードパック」紹介記事のカード画像誤りについて, roughly “About an error in the card images in the 30th Promo Card Pack introduction,” and it is dated 2026.9.28 on the official Pokémon Card Game site. In summary, it says:
- The card images for the 30th Promo Card Pack, which has been distributed since Wednesday, September 16, 2026, were partly wrong on the Pokémon Card Game 30th anniversary special site and on the 30th CELEBRATION EVENT site.
- Correct: the logo is on the left side of the card. Wrong: the logo is on the right side.
- The 30th Promo Card Pack handed out as a Gym Battle participation prize (and by other routes) contains the Greninja ex with the correct image.
- Each pack contains one card out of seven kinds.
- A 30th Promo Card Pack Greninja ex with the logo on the right does not exist.
The corrected image is now live on the 30th anniversary site’s Gym Battle page. We pulled it today: Greninja ex, 151/M-P, 300 HP, attacks おんみつぎり and アクアエッジ (160 damage), illustration credited to Sbon Graphics, with the logo at the left edge mid-card.
Two scope points matter. First, the notice names only Greninja ex. It does not say any of the other six cards in the pack were pictured wrong, so we are not going to suggest they were. Second, this was an image error on web pages, not a printing error. Nobody is saying some packs got a logo-right card. The official line is the opposite: that card was never made.
One disclosure of our own. Our 30th Promo Card Pack guide used the official Greninja ex image from the 30th site, which means it showed the logo-right version until today. That image has been replaced with the corrected one.
Why this matters when you buy from a photo
Overseas collectors buy Japanese promos almost entirely from pictures. You are not standing at a Tokyo shop counter turning the card over. You are looking at a thumbnail on eBay, or at a Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions listing through a proxy, and deciding from that.
For about twelve days, the most available picture of this card anywhere was the official one, and it showed a card that does not exist. Official renders are exactly what sellers grab when they list something before photographing it, or when they list many copies at once. So the question to ask of any listing is simple: is this a photo of a card, or a copy of the old official image?
⚠️ A logo-right photo is a stock image, not the card
If a listing's only picture shows Greninja ex 151/M-P with the 30th logo on the right, the seller did not photograph the card in their hands, because that card was never printed. It does not prove the listing is a scam, but it means you have no evidence of what you are buying. And if a physical card with the logo on the right ever turns up, it is not a genuine 30th Promo Card Pack card. Ask for a real photo of the front before paying.
We have not seen a physical logo-right card offered anywhere, and we are not claiming one exists in the market. The point is narrower and more practical. Until today, the official picture could not be used to check a card, because it disagreed with the real one. Now it can, and the check takes a few seconds.
🗼 What we can do about this
The hard part of this card is that you are judging it from pictures, and for twelve days the official picture was the wrong one. Send us the card and the condition you want, and we check the live Japanese listings (Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and shop stock) for copies shown in real photos with the 30th logo on the left, then send back a free report with the listings we would pick, the yen price, condition notes, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links. Our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.

How to check a Greninja ex 151/M-P listing before you pay
Run through this on every listing, whether it is on eBay, a Japanese marketplace through a proxy, or a shop’s website.
✅ Five checks for the 30th promo Greninja ex
- It is a photo, not a render. Look for a table surface, a sleeve, a toploader, glare or a hand. A perfectly flat image with clean edges is probably the official picture.
- The 30th logo is on the left. Pikachu ears with a 30, at the left edge just below the artwork, above the first attack. On the right means stock image.
- The bottom left reads PROMO and 151/M-P. This separates the promo from the Greninja ex in the 30th CELEBRATION expansion, which uses a different illustration and a different number.
- The top right reads HP 300. A quick sanity check that you are looking at the ex and not some other Greninja.
- The back is shown too. Front-only photos on a card you are paying real money for are a reason to ask for more.
If a Japanese listing only has the stock image, ask. A short message asking for a photo of the front (表面の写真をお願いできますか) is normal on Mercari, and our guide on asking Japanese sellers questions through Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions covers how that works through a proxy. For the broader authenticity basics that apply to any Japanese card, see how to spot fake Japanese Pokémon cards.
Where the real card comes from, and what it costs in Japan
The 30th Promo Card Pack is not sold anywhere. The wrapper is printed 非売品 (not for sale). It is handed out as a Gym Battle participation prize at Pokémon Card Gyms in Japan from September 16, 2026 to January 31, 2027, where it replaces one of the two regular promo packs in the prize. The 30th CELEBRATION EVENT Scramble Battles in Chiba and Osaka hand out more: 5 packs for 4 wins and 10 packs for 7 wins. Each pack holds one random card from seven, and Greninja ex is one of the two ex cards in the pool alongside Sylveon ex (153/M-P). The full rundown of routes and the other five cards is in our 30th Promo Card Pack guide.
So every copy on the market started as a prize someone won at a table in Japan. That is also why listings with real photos are the norm on Japanese marketplaces: sellers are individual players who pulled the card themselves.
As for price, the one Japanese shop figure we could confirm today comes from Card Rush, a Japanese single-card retailer. On September 28, 2026, its search results listed the card as ゲッコウガex (30th)【P】{151/M-P} at ¥1,280, with a second copy in A- condition at ¥1,090. Both were marked sold out when we checked, so treat those as the shop’s recent selling price, not stock you can order. Marketplace prices on Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions move daily with supply, and supply keeps growing for as long as Gym Battles hand out packs. For how to read sold listings rather than asking prices, our guide to checking a Japanese card’s real market price walks through the sources.
What the correction does not tell you
A few things the notice leaves open, so we are leaving them open too.
It does not say how the error happened, or whether any other printed material (shop posters, event signage) used the same image. It only names the two websites. It does not change the distribution window, the pack contents or the card itself. And it does not say anything about an English release of these promos; none has been announced.
What it does give you is a reliable reference image for the first time since distribution started. Save the corrected picture from the official Gym Battle page, and compare against it. If what you are looking at has the logo on the right, it is not the card in the pack.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the logo on the real 30th promo Greninja ex?
On the left. The 30th CELEBRATION logo (Pikachu ears with a 30) sits at the left edge of the card, just below the artwork and above the first attack, おんみつぎり. Pokémon's September 28, 2026 notice states the correct version has the logo on the left and that a 30th Promo Card Pack Greninja ex with the logo on the right does not exist.
Were the other 30th Promo Card Pack cards shown wrong too?
The notice only names Greninja ex. It says the images on the two official sites were partly wrong and then describes the Greninja ex logo position, without identifying any other card. Nothing in it says Sylveon ex, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Alolan Exeggutor or Lucario were affected.
I already bought a Greninja ex 151/M-P. How do I know mine is right?
Look at the left edge of the card below the art. If the 30th logo is there, it matches the card Pokémon says is in the packs. If your card has the logo on the right, it does not match any Greninja ex the 30th Promo Card Pack contains, so contact the seller and the platform with photos while you are still inside the return or dispute window.
Is the 30th promo Greninja ex the same card as the one in the 30th CELEBRATION set?
No. Greninja ex also appears in the 30th CELEBRATION expansion in a different illustration, and the two trade separately. The promo carries the number 151/M-P with PROMO printed at the bottom left, which is the fastest way to tell which one a listing is selling.
