Pokémon Card Shows in Japan 2027: Events Visitors Can Actually Attend
The Rundown
- Japan has no regular US-style card show circuit. As of October 5, 2026 we could verify 4 fan events from late 2026 into 2027: Pokémon's 30th CELEBRATION EVENT (Oct 25 Chiba, Oct 31–Nov 1 Osaka), Jump Festa 2027 (Dec 19–20), BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest in Tokyo (ONE PIECE on Mar 6–7, 2027) and Bushiroad's Card Game Fes 2027 (May 3–5).
- Every one of them is free or ticket-gated by lottery, and entry runs through a Japanese app: LINE for Pokémon, Jump NAVI for Jump Festa, BANDAI TCG+ for Bandai.
- No Pokémon-only collector event in Japan has an official 2027 date yet. Pokémon's 30th event lottery already closed on September 18, 2026.
- For ONE PIECE collectors, the BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest Tokyo application runs November 20–29, 2026, with no walk-in entry and a face photo required in BANDAI TCG+.
- The closest thing to a dealer-table show, TRADE SUMMIT OSAKA (August 1, 2026, ¥1,000 entry), has no next date announced.

You searched for a Pokémon card show in Japan, expecting rows of dealer tables in a convention hall like Collect-A-Con or a regional US show. Japan has no regular card show circuit like that. What it has are publisher fan events (free, but gated by lotteries and Japanese apps) and the occasional shop-led trade show, and as of October 5, 2026 we could verify four events from late 2026 into 2027. Here is the map, with the entry rule that decides whether you can actually get in.
Are there Pokémon card shows in Japan in 2027?
Not in the US sense, and no Pokémon-only collector event has an official 2027 date yet. The nearest real options are Pokémon’s 30th anniversary event this October and November, plus ONE PIECE and multi-title fan events running into spring 2027.
The table only includes events we could confirm on the organizer’s own website. “TBA” means the organizer has not published it as of October 5, 2026.
| Event | Dates | Venue | Organizer | Admission | Card goods on sale? | Can a visitor get in? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Card Game 30th CELEBRATION EVENT (ポケモンカードゲーム 30th CELEBRATION EVENT) | Oct 25, 2026 (Chiba); Oct 31–Nov 1, 2026 (Osaka) | Makuhari Messe Halls 4–7; INTEX Osaka Hall 6, Zone B | The Pokémon Company | Free, advance lottery (closed Sept 18) | Event goods “not planned for sale at the venue”; promo packs are battle prizes | Only with a winning entry: LINE QR code plus original photo ID (passport accepted) |
| Jump Festa 2027 (ジャンプフェスタ2027) | Dec 19–20, 2026 | Makuhari Messe Halls 1–9, 11 | Shueisha | Free, advance application or invitation | Jump goods at the JF Official Shop; no ONE PIECE CARD GAME booth listed as of Oct 5 | Only via the Jump NAVI app; overseas eligibility not stated |
| BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 in TOKYO, ONE PIECE CARD GAME day | Mar 6–7, 2027 | Ariake GYM-EX, Tokyo | Bandai | Free, lottery via BANDAI TCG+ (apply Nov 20–29, 2026) | Yes, event products and a P-110 Monkey.D.Luffy giveaway | Only via BANDAI TCG+ with an approved face photo; no walk-ins |
| Card Game Fes 2027 (カードゲーム祭2027) | May 3–5, 2027 | Tokyo Big Sight West Halls 1–2 & Atrium | Bushiroad | TBA (as of Oct 5, 2026) | Yes, Bushiroad titles; Pokémon and ONE PIECE not listed | Not stated |
Two of these are not card shows at all in the American sense. Jump Festa is a manga and anime festival where ONE PIECE is one of many series, and Card Game Fes is Bushiroad’s own festival for its card games plus analog game exhibitors. We include them because they are the large, ticketed hobby events that overseas collectors ask about, not because you will find Pokémon singles there.
Pokémon’s 30th CELEBRATION EVENT: the only official Pokémon collector event on the calendar
It is the biggest Pokémon card fan event Japan has run this year, and for a reader who did not apply in September, it is already out of reach.
The official overview lists Chiba on Sunday October 25 at Makuhari Messe and Osaka on October 31 and November 1 at INTEX Osaka, 9:00 to 19:30 with reception closing around 17:30. Admission is free, but the entry page states that you need a pre-registered lottery entry to attend. Applications ran through the LINE app (the official account is @pokemoncard_sb) from September 4 at 14:00 to September 18 at 12:00 JST, and results were due October 2 at 17:00.
The capacity numbers explain why a lottery exists. In Chiba alone, the Scramble Battle pass had 4,000 winners for the morning session and 4,000 for the afternoon, plus 1,700 general viewing passes. At the door you open the LINE account’s identity code and show one original photo ID; the official list starts with a passport and also includes a residence card, a driver’s license and a student ID.
What is inside matters for collectors: battle prizes of 5 or 10 30th Promo Card Packs for 4 or 7 wins, a teaching corner that hands out a promo Eevee, and showcase areas. The official goods page notes that the event merchandise is not planned for sale at the venue, so this is not a shopping trip. If the 30th packs are what you want, the store-level route is the 30th Promo Card Pack Gym Battle distribution, which runs at participating card shops until January 31, 2027.
ONE PIECE collectors: BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest is the 2027 event to plan around
Bandai’s Tokyo stop is the only verified 2027 event in Japan with on-site card product sales, and entry is entirely by advance lottery.
BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27 tours 11 cities, and Tokyo is split by title. ONE PIECE CARD GAME runs March 6–7, 2027 at Ariake GYM-EX. Battle Spirits, Digimon and the NARUTO card game share Ikebukuro Sunshine City Exhibition Hall C on the same weekend, Gundam goes to Bellesalle Takadanobaba, and UNION ARENA and Dragon Ball Super Fusion World take the TOC exhibition hall on February 20–21.
The entry rules are strict. The participation page says the Tokyo event is fully pre-applied, that there is no same-day entry without an application this year, and that a face photo registered in BANDAI TCG+ is mandatory. Bandai warns that photo review can take a week or more.
One detail tilts the odds against visitors. This year Bandai runs a priority lottery for applicants who link a My Number Card through a MOALA account and the government’s Myna app. My Number Cards are issued to registered residents of Japan, so most overseas applicants will be in the non-priority pool. The pages do not say non-residents are excluded, but they do not address them either.
On the products side, the official product pages list items with Tokyo among the sale venues, including the ONE PIECE Premium Card Collection -6 assort vol.2- at ¥1,650 and an Official Playmat & Card Set (Luffy & Bonney) at ¥4,730. Bandai notes that sales end when each venue’s stock runs out and that items may also be sold outside the event.
🗼 What we can do about this
Every event above is gated by a lottery tied to your own app account, and the venue-only goods sell out on the day. No one can win the lottery or pick up a giveaway for you, but those products do not vanish: after events, sealed event items and prize promos reach Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and shop cases. Tell the desk which item you missed. We check the live Japanese listings and send back a free report with the listings we would pick, the yen price, condition notes and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links; our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.

Jump Festa 2027 and Card Game Fes 2027: big, but not card shows
Jump Festa is free and huge, but as of October 5 its official site lists no ONE PIECE CARD GAME booth. Card Game Fes is a real card festival, but for Bushiroad titles.
Jump Festa 2027 runs December 19–20, 2026 at Makuhari Messe, 9:00 to 17:00. Everyone of elementary school age and up needs an e-ticket in the Jump NAVI app. The general application window is November 2 (10:00) to November 16 (17:59), results land around November 24, and 28,000 people win per day. Even inside, the JF Official Shop needs its own goods-purchase ticket, drawn from a second lottery that only covers morning slots. The booth and market pages currently list original manga art, Jump magazine booths and Jump merchandise. Check the official site again in November before you count on card products.
Card Game Fes 2027 is Bushiroad’s festival, held May 3–5, 2027 at Tokyo Big Sight. The official page describes tournaments, teaching sessions, merchandise sales, exhibits and analog game exhibitor booths for Bushiroad-related TCGs. Ticketing for 2027 is not published yet. It is the closest thing to a big multi-booth card convention in Japan, but nothing on the page mentions Pokémon or ONE PIECE.
⚠️ Don't book the flight before the lottery
Every official event here is free but lottery-gated, and your entry is tied to your own account: a LINE identity code plus photo ID at Pokémon's event, an approved face photo in BANDAI TCG+ at Bandai's. That means a "ticket" bought from a reseller has nothing to attach to, and a non-refundable flight booked before results (Bandai: around December 14) can leave you in Tokyo with no way in. Book after you win, or plan a trip that is worth it with card shops alone.
What about trade shows with dealer tables?
They exist, but rarely, and none has a confirmed date in Japan for 2027 yet.
The closest match to a US card show this year was TRADE SUMMIT OSAKA 2026, held August 1, 2026 at the Sunrise Building in Osaka. The organizer describes card shops from across Japan selling, buying and trading Pokémon, ONE PIECE, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic and Duel Masters, with live auctions of graded cards. General admission was ¥1,000, under-18s were free, and its FAQ said English-speaking staff would be on site. Its event page now reads “next event in preparation”, and the company’s roadmap lists a second event and a Tokyo expansion for 2027 without a date. We will add it to the table when the organizer publishes one.
Smaller shop-run events also happen, such as the free Toredama Fes (トレカ魂フェス) held in Hachioji on August 15, 2026 with Pokémon and ONE PIECE among its titles. None of them had a confirmed late-2026 or 2027 date on an official page when we checked, which is why this list is short. We left out anything we could not confirm.
The honest answer for a 2027 trip
If you want to buy Japanese cards in person, the card shop districts are Japan’s permanent card show. Book the event only if you win the lottery.
Akihabara in particular has card shops close enough to walk between, selling singles every day with no lottery and no app. Our Tokyo Pokémon card store guide covers where to start, and the ID rules for tourists explain where a passport is needed. For players, the competitive calendar is separate. The Championship Series 2027 guide explains which Japanese tournaments a non-resident can realistically enter.
The event calendar will grow. Pokémon has announced nothing collector-focused for 2027 yet, Card Game Fes still has to publish ticketing, and TRADE SUMMIT has no date. We will update this page as official dates appear.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to get into card events in Japan?
The publisher events are free. Pokémon's 30th CELEBRATION EVENT, Jump Festa 2027 and BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest in Tokyo all list admission as free, but each one caps attendance with an advance lottery. Private shop-led shows charge a small fee: TRADE SUMMIT OSAKA 2026 sold general admission at ¥1,000, with under-18s free. Your real cost is travel plus whatever you buy inside.
Can I just walk in to a Pokémon card event in Japan?
Not to the big official ones. Pokémon's 30th CELEBRATION EVENT requires a winning lottery entry, and at the door you show a QR code from the LINE app plus original photo ID (a passport is on the list). Bandai's Tokyo BCG Fest says outright that there is no same-day entry without an application this year. Card shops are the walk-in option: they are open every day and many run in-store events.
Are Pokémon tournaments in Japan the same thing as card shows?
No. Japan's big Pokémon competitive events are the Champions League stops, such as Champions League 2027 Yokohama. They are tournaments with their own entry rules, Japanese-language card requirements and registration windows, not collector shows with dealer tables. Our Championship Series 2027 guide covers which of them a non-resident can realistically enter.
Do card events in Japan sell exclusive products?
Some do, in limited quantities. BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest lists event products such as a ONE PIECE Premium Card Collection -6 assort vol.2- at ¥1,650, and Tokyo appears among the sale venues. Pokémon's 30th CELEBRATION EVENT is the opposite case: its official page says the event goods are not planned for sale at the venue, and its promo packs are battle prizes.
