One Piece EB-05 Heroines vol.2 Release Date: Oct 31, ¥240, $4.99 EN
The Rundown
- ¥240 per 6-card pack in Japan, up from the ¥220 that EB-01 through EB-04 all carried. That is the first price move in the Extra Booster line, and it works out to ¥40 per card.
- Japan releases EB-05 on Saturday, October 31, 2026, and Bandai's English page dates the English edition October 30, 2026 at USD $4.99, one day earlier. The three previous Extra Boosters took 97, 104 and 118 days to cross over.
- Both pages now give 75 + 2 types. The Japanese page splits it as 7 Leaders, 29 Commons, 21 Rares, 9 Super Rares, 1 Secret Rare, 8 Special Cards and 2 DON!! cards. Neither page publishes a packs-per-box figure (checked October 3, 2026).
- EB-05 is Heroines vol.2. Vol.1 was EB-03, which shipped as 71+4 types in Japan on October 25, 2025 and in English on February 20, 2026, so the vol.1 cards are already buyable in both languages.
- EB-04 EGGHEAD CRISIS never got a standalone English Extra Booster. Its code appears folded into two English booster packs, OP14-EB04 and OP15-EB04, which is why a JP-to-EN pattern is not a guarantee.

You saw the EB-05 art, you want the Heroines cards, and the question is whether to line up a Japanese preorder or sit tight. Here is the short version: EB-05 is ¥240 for a 6-card pack in Japan on October 31, 2026, and USD $4.99 a pack in English on October 30, 2026, so for the first time in this line the English edition is dated before the Japanese one. Both official pages now give 75 + 2 card types (checked October 3, 2026). That timing is the whole story, and it changes the usual import math.
When is EB-05 released in Japan and in English?
EB-05 releases on Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Japan and on October 30, 2026 in English, per Bandai’s two product pages (checked October 3, 2026). The three earlier Extra Boosters that got an English version reached it 97, 104 and 118 days after Japan, so EB-05 is the first with the English edition dated ahead.

The name, the release days, the price, six cards per Japanese pack, and a 75 + 2 type count with a rarity split. Packs per box is still missing in both languages. Here is EB-05 against every Extra Booster that came before it, read off the official product pages (earlier sets on September 17, EB-05 on October 3, 2026).

The Japanese title is エクストラブースター ONE PIECE Heroines Edition vol.2【EB-05】, and the English one is EXTRA BOOSTER -ONE PIECE HEROINES EDITION vol.2- [EB-05]. Bandai’s own blurb on both pages is one line: the second Extra Booster featuring Heroines, with new cards to strengthen your deck.
Set size arrived with the release day, and it lands in the middle of the line’s range.
| Set | Card types on the official page |
|---|---|
| EB-01 | 61 |
| EB-02 | 87 + 1 |
| EB-03 | 71 + 4 |
| EB-04 | 67 + 1 |
| EB-05 | 75 + 2 |
EB-05’s published split is 7 Leaders, 29 Commons, 21 Rares, 9 Super Rares, 1 Secret Rare, 8 Special Cards and 2 DON!! cards. Against vol.1, EB-03 (1 Leader, 29 Commons, 21 Rares, 9 Super Rares, 2 Secret Rares, 9 Special Cards and 4 DON!! cards), the Common, Rare and Super Rare counts are identical. The difference is six more Leaders and one fewer Secret Rare.
Why EB-05 costs ¥240 when every earlier Extra Booster was ¥220
Because the whole Japanese line moved. EB-01, EB-02, EB-03 and EB-04 all list 220円(税込) on their official pages. So do the Japanese OP-14 (November 22, 2025), OP-15 (February 28, 2026) and OP-16 (May 30, 2026) booster pages. The first ¥240 figure on the Japanese side appears on OP-17, released August 22, 2026, and EB-05 is simply the first Extra Booster to arrive after that change.
In per-card terms the Japanese pack went from about ¥36.7 to ¥40. The English MSRP did not move with it: EB-02, EB-03 and EB-05 are all USD $4.99, and the only English price change in the Extra Booster line was EB-01’s $4.49 rising to $4.99 for EB-02.
💡 The two packs are not the same object
A Japanese Extra Booster pack holds 6 cards. The English one holds 12, and has since EB-01, whose English page spelled it out as 12 cards per pack, 24 packs per box, 61 card types. So a Japanese pack at ¥240 is roughly ¥40 a card, and an English pack at $4.99 is roughly $0.42 a card. Any "Japan is cheaper" or "English is cheaper" claim that compares pack prices without correcting for 6 against 12 is comparing two different products.
How an Extra Booster differs from a main set like OP-17
An Extra Booster is a smaller, side-release set. OP-17 carries 131 types plus 4 DON!! cards; EB-03 carried 71 plus 4, and EB-04 carried 67 plus 1. They use the same ¥240 pack price and the same 6-card Japanese pack, so you are paying main-set money for a smaller pool. The upside of a smaller pool is that completing the base set takes fewer cards. The downside is that the chase in these sets sits almost entirely in parallels and Special Cards, which are not counted in the published type total at all.
That second point is the one that trips up new importers. A Japanese card number does not identify a single card, because parallels share the base card’s number and often its rarity letter too. We broke that down card by card in our guide to Japanese One Piece rarities, and it applies to Extra Boosters exactly as it does to OP-17.
Extra Boosters also lean on other sets’ numbering. EB-03’s published split includes 9 Special Cards, and in the One Piece line those are typically alternate-art versions of cards first printed elsewhere, keeping their original card numbers. OP-17’s set list is the clearest example: it includes EB04-007 and EB04-061, two cards with EB-04 numbers that come out of OP-17 packs. Expect the same crossover behavior around EB-05 and do not assume every EB05- number will be found by searching “EB05-”.
Import EB-05 now, or wait for the English version?
On the published dates, waiting costs you nothing this time, and that is genuinely new. For EB-01, EB-02 and EB-03 the English version landed 97, 104 and 118 days after Japan, so importing bought you three to four months of lead time. For EB-05 the English page says October 30, 2026 and the Japanese page says October 31. There is no wait at all: the English edition is dated a day earlier, before forwarding time from Japan is even counted.
So the decision collapses to two ordinary questions.
Do you want Japanese-language cards specifically? Then import, because no amount of waiting produces them outside Japan. Japanese prints are their own collecting target, and for most readers that is the honest reason to buy them. The routes are unchanged and we laid them out in buying One Piece cards from Japan.
Do you want these cards on a table at your local shop? Then buy English, in nearly every region. See the legality section below before you spend anything.
If what you actually want is Heroines art in English and you would rather not wait at all, the vol.1 set already exists in both languages: EB-03 shipped in English on February 20, 2026, and sealed and single EB-03 listings (paid link) are already on the open market. Vol.2 being announced does not remove vol.1 from shelves.
🗼 What we can do about this
The specific problem with EB-05 right now is that Japanese retailers are taking preorders for a product whose box configuration Bandai has not published. The release day (October 31, 2026) and the 75 + 2 card count are now on the official page, but every sealed-box asking price you see is still a retailer's own arithmetic on an unstated pack count, and the only fixed price in the whole picture is ¥240 per pack. Send us what you want out of EB-05, in Japanese or English, and the free report comes back with the actual Japanese listings that exist this week, what each one states about its contents in its own words, which of them will accept an overseas forwarding address, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links; our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.
The Tokyo Sourcing Desk is our own free service. Editorial policy.
What is not confirmed, and why it matters for preorders
The release day and card count are settled now. Two blanks remain on the official pages (checked October 3, 2026), both of them things preorder listings will happily fill in for you:
- Packs per box, in either language. Bandai has published that figure exactly once in this line, on the English EB-01 page, and neither EB-05 page states it. The English page no longer restates cards per pack either.
- Anything about parallels or a Treasure Rare. The Japanese page counts 8 Special Cards but says nothing about parallel versions or pull rates.
⚠️ Do not compare a Japanese EB-05 box price to an English one pack for pack
The Japanese pack is 6 cards. The English pack is 12. A box of 24 Japanese packs would be 144 cards; a box of 24 English packs would be 288. Marketplace listings routinely quote "24 packs" for either market without saying which, so a Japanese box that looks like the cheaper option on a pack-count basis can be the more expensive one per card. Bandai publishes no packs-per-box figure for EB-05 in either language, so the pack count in any listing is the seller's claim, not a spec. Make the seller state cards per pack and packs per box in writing before you pay. The same trap, with the arithmetic worked through on a set we could verify, is in our [Japanese booster box and pack guarantees guide](/articles/japanese-one-piece-booster-box-packs-guarantees/).
There is one more reason to hold the JP-to-EN pattern loosely. EB-04 EGGHEAD CRISIS released in Japan on January 31, 2026 and has no standalone English Extra Booster page at all. Instead the English booster index carries two sets with combined codes, BOOSTER PACK -THE AZURE SEA’S SEVEN- [OP14-EB04] on January 16, 2026 and BOOSTER PACK -ADVENTURE ON KAMI’S ISLAND- [OP15-EB04] on April 3, 2026. Bandai does not explain on those pages how the EB-04 content is distributed between them, and we did not verify the card-by-card split, so we are reporting the codes and stopping there. The point stands regardless: one of the last four Extra Boosters did not cross over as an Extra Booster.
Can you actually play Japanese EB-05 cards?
In most of the world, no. The official English Tournament Rules Manual is explicit. Players in North America, Latin America and Oceania must use English language cards for their Leader Card and Main Deck at all tournament events. Players in Europe must use English and/or French. Officially distributed DON!! cards in any language may be used at all levels of official tournament events.
The same manual sets the timing: official Bandai card sets are legal at level 2 and 3 events 7 days after the official release date, and at level 1 events on the release date, including the pre-release date. The English EB-05 page repeats the second half of that as a footnote.
✅ Before you preorder EB-05 from Japan
- Note the dates: October 31, 2026 in Japan, October 30, 2026 in English (both pages checked October 3, 2026).
- Divide any sealed-box ask by the pack count the listing itself states, and compare that to ¥240.
- Confirm the listing says 6枚 (6 cards) per pack if it is the Japanese product.
- If you want deck-legal cards, buy the English EB-05 instead. It is dated a day earlier.
- Check any "full set" claim against Bandai's 75 + 2 types, and ask whether it counts the 8 Special Cards and 2 DON!! cards.
For the wider version of this decision, including how the English and Japanese calendars have drifted across the main sets, see our OP-17 Japanese vs English release comparison. Everything Bandai has dated for the next few months sits on our releases page.
The two figures worth carrying out of this article are ¥240 and October 31, because the price and the day are what Bandai has committed to for the Japanese pack, with the English edition a day ahead. We will update this piece if a packs-per-box figure appears on either official page.
Frequently asked questions
When does One Piece EB-05 Heroines Edition vol.2 come out?
Saturday, October 31, 2026 in Japan. Bandai's Japanese product page now reads 2026年10月31日[土]発売 (checked October 3, 2026), after showing only 2026年10月 through late September. The English page dates the English edition October 30, 2026, one day before Japan. Like EB-01 through EB-04, the Japanese date is a Saturday.
Is October 31 the EB-05 release date?
Yes, for Japan. Bandai's Japanese product page now states 2026年10月31日[土]発売, so October 31, 2026 is the official Japanese release date (checked October 3, 2026). It is also the first day of the EB-05 release events (発売記念イベント) at official shops, which run to November 15 with dates that vary by shop. The English edition is dated one day earlier, October 30, 2026.
How much is an EB-05 pack in Japan?
¥240 including consumption tax for 6 cards, per Bandai's official Japanese page. That is a ¥20 increase over every previous Extra Booster, all of which were ¥220 for the same 6 cards. The same ¥240 figure first appeared on the Japanese line with OP-17 in August 2026, so this is the new standard pack price rather than something specific to Heroines vol.2.
Is EB-05 getting an English release?
Yes. Bandai's English site lists EXTRA BOOSTER -ONE PIECE HEROINES EDITION vol.2- [EB-05] for October 30, 2026 at USD $4.99 per pack, with 75+2 types in total. That is one day before the Japanese release, a sharp change from EB-01, EB-02 and EB-03, where the English version arrived 97, 104 and 118 days after the Japanese one. The English page listed 12 cards per pack on September 27; on October 3 its Contents field gave only the type count.
How many cards are in EB-05?
75 + 2 types. The Japanese page's 内容 field reads 1パック:カード6枚(全75種+2種), and the English page says 75+2 types in total (both checked October 3, 2026). The Japanese rarity line breaks it into 7 Leaders, 29 Commons, 21 Rares, 9 Super Rares, 1 Secret Rare, 8 Special Cards and 2 DON!! cards. For comparison, Bandai published 61 types for EB-01, 87+1 for EB-02, 71+4 for EB-03 and 67+1 for EB-04.
Can I use Japanese EB-05 cards at my local tournament?
In most of the world, no. The official English Tournament Rules Manual requires players in North America, Latin America and Oceania to use English language cards for their Leader Card and Main Deck at all tournament events, and requires players in Europe to use English and/or French. Officially distributed DON!! cards in any language are allowed everywhere. So Japanese EB-05 cards are collection and casual cards under those rules, not deck-legal ones, and you should confirm the current manual for your own region before buying to play.
