Mega Heatran ex Promo: Japan's Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 From Nov 1
The Rundown
- Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 starts distribution Sunday, November 1, 2026 at Pokémon Card Gyms across Japan: 7 cards in the pool, exactly 1 random card per pack.
- The headliner is Mega Heatran ex (169/M-P, 300 HP): it takes 60 less attack damage while at full HP, and its 140-damage attack hits for 280 when used on consecutive turns.
- The other six: the new Supporter ハルジオ, new illustrations of Golett and Gastly, and reprints of Hariyama, Energy Recycle and the Supporter ムク.
- It is a prize, not a product. A Gym Battle entry pays 1 Vol. 6 pack plus 1 30th Promo Card Pack; winning, a 9+ player janken tournament, or a Deck-As-Is Battle entry pays more.
- Overseas, the only route is the Japanese singles market after November 1. Any listing before that date is for a card the seller has not received yet.

You saw a Mega Heatran ex promo in a Japanese decklist or a pack photo and want to know how to get one from outside Japan. Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 (プロモカードパック第6弾) is handed out at Pokémon Card Gyms across Japan from Sunday, November 1, 2026: seven cards, one random card per pack, and no retail sale at all. The Pokémon Company posted the announcement on October 16, 2026. For overseas collectors that means one route: the Japanese singles market, once real copies exist.
How do you get the Mega Heatran ex promo in Japan?
You play for it. Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 is a prize at Pokémon Card Gym events, so the only way to get one first-hand is to enter a Gym Battle or a Deck-As-Is Battle at a participating shop in Japan from November 1.
| Event at a Pokémon Card Gym | Vol. 6 packs | Also given |
|---|---|---|
| Gym Battle, participation prize | 1 pack (1 card) | 1 30th Promo Card Pack as a participation prize |
| Gym Battle, winner | 1 pack (1 card) | |
| Janken (rock-paper-scissors) tournament winner | 1 pack (1 card) | Held only with 9 or more participants |
| デッキそのままバトル (Deck-As-Is Battle), participation | 1 pack (1 card) | Promo Eevee (イーブイ) |
The Gym Battle line needs precise wording, because it differs from Vol. 5. The notice says that during the period the participation prize is 1 pack, and that in its place a 30th Promo Card Pack is given as a participation prize, 1 pack. The 30th anniversary site explains the swap: from September 16, 2026 to January 31, 2027, one of the two single-card Promo Card Packs normally given for Gym Battle participation is replaced by a 30th Promo Card Pack. So one Gym Battle entry in November nets one Vol. 6 pack and one 30th pack. We covered that second pack in 30th Promo Card Pack: 7 cards, handed out until Jan 31, 2027.
Two caveats from the notice apply to everything above: prize quantities are limited and end when they run out, and prizes may change without notice. “Deck-As-Is Battle” is our literal rendering of デッキそのままバトル, not an official English event name.

The pack art itself settles the retail question. It reads 非売品 (not for sale), ランダム1枚入り (1 random card) and 全7種 (7 types).
What are the 7 cards in Promo Card Pack Vol. 6?
Mega Heatran ex is the headliner, ハルジオ is the new Supporter, Golett and Gastly are new illustrations, and three cards are reprints. Card numbers come from the official card database.
| No. | Card | Japanese name | Type / role | New or reprint |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 169/M-P | Mega Heatran ex | メガヒードランex | Basic Mega Evolution ex, 300 HP | New card, headliner |
| 171/M-P | ”Harujio” (our romanization) | ハルジオ | Supporter, healing | New card |
| 166/M-P | Golett | ゴビット | Basic Pokémon, 90 HP | New illustration |
| 168/M-P | Gastly | ゴース | Basic Pokémon, 70 HP | New illustration |
| 167/M-P | Hariyama | ハリテヤマ | Stage 1 Pokémon, 150 HP | Reprint |
| 170/M-P | Energy Recycle | エネルギーリサイクル | Item | Reprint |
| 172/M-P | ”Muku” (our romanization) | ムク | Supporter, draw | Reprint |
ハルジオ and ムク have no English names we could verify. “Harujio” and “Muku” are straight romanizations of the Japanese, not official localizations, so search for them in Japanese.
Mega Heatran ex: built to tank and swing twice
Its Ability, こうみつどアーマー (literally “high-density armor”), reduces damage from your opponent’s attacks by 60 while Mega Heatran ex has full HP, meaning no damage counters on it. Its attack, ギガンティックプレス (Gigantic Press), does 140, and the next turn’s Gigantic Press gets +140. The official notice spells out the payoff: use it on consecutive turns and the second hit deals 280. Pair that with 300 HP and the card is designed to survive one exchange and come back harder. Standard Mega Evolution ex rules apply: if it is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 3 Prize cards.
The Supporters and the art variants
ハルジオ has you flip a coin and heal your Active Pokémon 150 on heads or 30 on tails. The notice pitches it as a partner for Pokémon that absorb hits, which is exactly what Mega Heatran ex does. ムク discards up to two Pokémon without a Rule Box from your hand and draws three cards per Pokémon discarded.
Golett and Gastly are the collector angle. The notice says a different Golett illustration appears in the Storm Emeralda expansion and a different Gastly illustration appears in the ムニキスゼロ (“Munikis Zero,” our romanization) expansion. If you chase illustration pairs, these are the two to watch. Our Storm Emeralda card list covers that set.
💡 The reprints are the cards players already use
The notice describes Hariyama, Energy Recycle and ムク as cards that are active in official tournaments. Hariyama's Ability switches in one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon when you evolve into it, and Energy Recycle shuffles up to 5 basic Energy from your discard pile back into your deck. Expect these three to be the most common singles once packs are opened.
Why this matters if you collect from outside Japan
There is no product to preorder and no shop that sells this pack. Every copy of Mega Heatran ex 169/M-P starts life as a prize handed to a player at a Japanese card shop, and the overseas supply is whatever those players decide to sell.
That shapes three things. First, nothing exists before November 1, so any listing dated earlier is for a card the seller has not received. Second, supply grows every week, because Gym Battles run regularly at shops across Japan and the notice gives no end date beyond “while stocks last.” Third, you are competing with Japanese buyers on Mercari and Yahoo! Auctions, so Japanese-language searches matter more than English ones.
The previous volume worked the same way. Our Promo Card Pack Vol. 5 guide covers that release, including the proxy routes and the Japanese search terms that actually surface listings.
🗼 What we can do about this
Mega Heatran ex 169/M-P is a Gym prize with no retail route, so the only copies you can reach are Japanese players' resale listings. Once those appear after November 1, tell us which card you want (Mega Heatran ex, the ハルジオ Supporter, or a playset of a reprint) and your price ceiling. We check the live Japanese listings on Mercari, Yahoo! Auctions and shop stock, then send back a free report with the listings we would pick, the yen price, condition notes, and an all-in estimate including proxy fees and shipping to your country. You buy directly from the links. Our job is finding the best way to buy it from Japan and telling you.
The Tokyo Sourcing Desk is our own free service. Editorial policy.
How to find it on the Japanese market
Search in Japanese. English search terms surface very little on Mercari or Yahoo! Auctions, because Japanese sellers title listings in Japanese and often add the card number.
⚠️ A listing dated before November 1 is a promise, not a card
Distribution starts Sunday, November 1, 2026, and the pack is a prize, not a product. A seller listing Mega Heatran ex 169/M-P before that date cannot have it in hand, so you are paying for a card that has not been handed out yet, with no condition photos of the actual copy. Wait for listings that show the real card.
Tournament use and the English question
The October 16 notice is about Japanese Pokémon Card Gym events and says nothing about tournaments outside Japan. If you want Mega Heatran ex for a deck rather than a binder, check your own organizer’s card-language rules before buying, since this is a Japanese-language card.
No English version has been announced. If you need the card in English, the thing to track is the English release schedule, not this pack.
When to buy
Nothing here rewards speed. Distribution opens November 1 and continues while stock lasts, Gym Battles keep running at shops across Japan, and each entry adds more Vol. 6 cards to the pool. The reprints will likely be the easiest to find because players who chase Mega Heatran ex will open plenty of them.
✅ Before you spend anything
- Confirm the card number on the listing photo: 169/M-P for Mega Heatran ex.
- Check the listing date and photos: real copies only exist from November 1.
- Compare sold prices across at least two weeks before you bid.
- Decide whether you need it for play or for a collection, and check language rules if it is for play.
- Add proxy fees and international shipping to the yen price before deciding it is a good deal.
If Mega Heatran ex turns out to see real play in Japanese tournaments, it is the one card in this pool where demand could keep pace with supply. Everything else should get easier to find as November goes on.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 cost?
It has no price. The official notice lists no price because it is an event prize, not a product, and the official pack art is printed 非売品 (not for sale). The notice also does not state a Gym Battle entry fee; Gym Battles are run by individual shops in their own formats, so any entry fee is something to confirm with that shop.
What card number is the Mega Heatran ex promo?
169/M-P. The official card database lists the seven Vol. 6 cards as 166/M-P to 172/M-P: Golett 166, Hariyama 167, Gastly 168, Mega Heatran ex 169, Energy Recycle 170, ハルジオ 171 and ムク 172.
Is there an English version of the Mega Heatran ex promo?
None has been announced. The October 16, 2026 notice covers Japanese Pokémon Card Gym distribution only. Japanese Gym promos run on their own program, so if an English printing of this card ever appears, expect it to arrive through a separate English product rather than this pack.
Does Promo Card Pack Vol. 6 have an end date?
No end date is announced. The official notice says prize quantities are limited and distribution ends when they run out, and that prizes may change without notice.
